| Frequently asked questions
Can't find the answer you need?
We’ve tried hard to make event information accessible to you through
our website. But if you can’t find what you need, send us an email
at ghiwtc@newkirk.com.
When is the race?
Thursday, May 15, 2008
What time does the race start?
The race starts in front of the New York State Museum
at 6:25 pm.
How can my company enter?
Click on registration. It’s
as easy as that.
Can I sign up as an individual?
No. The GHI Workforce Team Challenge is a team event, and you must have
at least 4 workers to make your team. Recruit a team! Teams are composed
of four men, four women, or two of each.
My company is interested in becoming
a sponsor. How can we make that happen?
Click on sponsorship and find out
all the details. If you have any questions send an email with the word
“sponsorship” in the subject line to ghiwtc@newkirk.com.
Where are the registration forms
this year?
Click on registration. You
may also click on "Registration" in the top banner of this website.
If you are a returning team, your Captain from last year will receive
an informational packet in the mail. New teams and new captains must visit
the website to secure registration forms.
Are walkers allowed?
Absolutely. Walkers are a big part of the GHI Workforce Team Challenge.
This event benefits racers, joggers and walkers. For safety purposes,
however, children, baby strollers (and baby joggers) and non-service dogs
are not allowed on the racecourse.
What are the eligibility requirements?
In addition to full or part timers, teams may be composed of employees
who are per diems, seasonal, temporary, or contractor staff. Basically,
if your employer says you are an employee, you’re on the team!
I work in Poughkeepsie? Can I run in your event

Sure, as long as you meet the team eligibility requirements
above.

Who is the Host of this event?
For the past 27 years the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners
Club has produced the Challenge. HMRRC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization
dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles through running and walking
for sport and fitness.
Who is the “Charity of Choice”?
Living Resources is an organization dedicated to providing
life-enhancing services to individuals with developmental disabilities
and acquired brain injuries. Motivated to create opportunities for full
community integration for all persons, no matter the level of ability
at which they approached their daily activities, caring professionals
and committed parents opened the first program – a residence –
in Schenectady in 1974. Since then, Living Resources has steadily expanded
its programming to include clinical services, day habilitation, employment
services, fine arts classes, hearing and interpreting services, after
school programming, service coordination and, in 2005, the College Experience
Program in collaboration with The College of Saint Rose.
In 2007, with an annual operating budget approaching $30
million, Living Resources served over 1,000 individuals; many of the people
who come to us for services are enrolled in more than one program. Program
staffing exceeds 700 full and part time, well-trained employees working
throughout Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady and Westchester
counties.
Open for business 24/7, this busy organization is guided
by the compassionate leadership of one of its founders and CEO Fredrick
W. Erlich. Fred often reminds his staff that the Living Resources story
is never about what we have accomplished in the past, but what we still
need to do in the future. With only 40% of the people in the Capital Region
with developmental disabilities actually receiving services – that
is, only 5880 out of 14,700 people – Living Resources is always
focused on creating and expanding the services that bring enrichment and
independence into these lives.
As the 2008 Charity of Choice, Living Resources wishes
to thank GHI for the opportunity to participate in this year’s Workforce
Team Challenge. The support that our programs will receive through this
special honor will be very much appreciated. For more information about
Living Resources visit the website at www.LivingResources.org.
Who is the event sponsor?
